thanksgiving/bird bash...

Well, I don't know about you all, but I am STILL stuffed from last night's "Paradox Bird Bash". A HUGE thanks goes out to everyone who brought something for the potluck. Everything was so, so, so, so good. From the salad, to the potatoes, to the pies, it was a truly special night. And it was awesome to see the body of Christ come together as well. Paradox is a body, it is a community, of college students who have one thing in mind, love God in everything they do, and secondly, love others as themselves. And last night was full of both. I thank you all for being a part of it, and thanks be to God for blessing the night.

I also wanted to leave you all with some verses that you could dwell on as you go home for thanksgiving and indulge in the feast of epic proportions. Each of these verses are used to encourage you to live a life FULL of thanksgiving. There are intended with the purpose of you never losing sight of the greatest gift that can ever be given was given to you, freely and without conditions. Our lives need to be characterized by thanksgiving, knowing that the gift we received was given by grace. Paul says it the best in Ephesians 2:8-10 "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Thanks be to Him from whom the gifts are given.

Psalm 26:6-7 "I wash my hands in innocence and go around your altar, O Lord, proclaiming thanksgiving aloud, and telling all your wondrous deeds."
Psalm 50:23 "The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me;to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!"
Ps 100:4 "Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!"
Philippians 4:6-7 "do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Col 4:2 "Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving."

May this thanksgiving day have a whole new meaning for you. And may everyday have a new meaning to you! God Bless!
