Isaiah 57:7-8 "I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite."
This is an amazing promise that the Lord is giving to us. He is saying that not only does He dwell in the heavens, but He is close to those who are lowly in spirit, and broken in heart. It is an amazing picture of Who God is and His heart for those who are in need of a Savior. Many times we picture God (I am just a guilty) as being this "Cosmic Force dwelling in a distant land called Heaven". We picture God being far away, so far that we are unable to obtain Him or draw close to Him. But how inaccurate a picture that is. GOD IS RIGHT THERE WITH YOU, AND HE LOVES YOU! The accurate picture is that of a King seated on high and yet humbly and lovingly kneeling down beside His children when they are in desperate need of Him.
Although God is dwelling in the Heavens, He also makes His dwelling with us through Jesus Christ. This week, be meditating on just that awesome picture and the awesome love that He has for each of us. Here are some questions to help you (there are many more, these are only a few to get you started):
What does that mean in your life?
How does God revive you when your heart is broken?
Has God ever revived you in the past? If so, how did that make you feel?
Who can you share this promise with?
God is awesome and worthy to be praised! God Bless!
