Christianity is a relationship.  It is a relationship between God and you. Like any relationship you have to know one another.  In order to grow and develop a relationship with another person you must hang out with them, spend time with them, learn about them, and let them "get to know" you as well.  It is the same with God.  We have to "get to know" God if we want to develop that relationship with Him.  And the best way to do that is by reading His Word, The Bible.  The Bible reveals to us who God is, and what He is all about.  It is a way that we get an intimate knowledge of Him.
